Case Study: Harley Davidson Paul A. Adams Sr. BBM 201 Principles of Management Wilmington University Mission Statement The mission statement of the Harley Davidson Company is stated in three parts the Vision: “We fulfill dreams inspired by the many roads of the world by providing remarkable motorcycles and extraordinary customer experiences. We fuel the passion for freedom in our customers to express their own identity.” This speaks to the satisfaction and importance to the customer. The Mission: “We ride with our customers and apply this deep connection in every market we serve to create superior value for all of our stakeholders.” This speaks directly to the commitment of the employees to the company and its stakeholders. The Quality: “Customers for life… Harley-Davidson values the deep emotional connection that is created with our customer through our products, service and experiences, We are fueled by the brand loyalty and trust that our customers place in us to deliver premium quality and the promise of a fulfilling lifetime ownership experience. We exemplify this commitment by embracing a culture of personal responsibility and stewardship for quality in everything we do.” This is the statement that is meant to separate them from their competitor. The Harley Davidson mission statement in my opinion is clearly stated and sets a standard of excellence that has served them real over the years. Customer satisfaction and quality go hand in hand and are the key essential ingredients in a good recipe of success. The overall purpose of the mission is to provide the customer with the goods and services that are most valued. Major Strengths Some of the major strengths of the Harley-Davidson company is its brand name, network for distribution, and increase in sales over the past couple of years.
