And it is not uncommon for members of parade Krewes to spend an average of $800-$2,000 per parade ride on the beads that they will toss over the course of their parade route. Also, Krewes must submit their bead orders in September to ensure that they will be ready for Carnival season early the next year. In recent years the distribution of beads has been equated to rowdy behavior. This has mainly involved men demanding that women show certain parts of their bodies to earn their beads. Many long-time Mardi Gras attendees will point out that this mainly happens in the French Quarter and not along the actual parade route, where the fun and true purpose of Mardi Gras continues to prosper.

Warwick castle host numerous events throughout the normal days examples are: the firing of the mighty Trebuchet and the flight of the eagles show. Also they offer great concerts to the public, this year the world known singer Jessie J is appearing at the castle for a concert. I went to the Jessie J concert and it was very good, the castle hosting 20,000 people in the gardens. The image on the right is just one of the many view to see Jessie preform late into the night.
Rituals and festivals played a crucial role in traditional European life throughout the modern period. Rituals, such as charivari (“riding the stang”) allowed for the community to join together and have fun, teach lessons, and even make political statements. Festivals such as carnival, and that on midsummer night’s eve allowed for the community to relax, release their burdens, join together, learn from one another and, to the dismay of some, also served as a medium of spreading vices. Despite their disorderly nature, these ritualized activities actually served to reinforce traditional social values by building a sense of community, by imposing mechanisms of social control, and providing outlets for political discontent. Many rituals and festivals built community spirit and unity.
Two such novels that contain love and the secrets it contains are the Great Gatsby and Ethan Frome. The Great Gatsby is a novel told from the perspective of one of its characters, Nick Caraway, looking back on the events that unfolded because of his close relationship with his neighbor, James Gatsby. Mr. Gatsby was a man of extreme wealth that came to him because of a large inheritance from his father, or so he claims. He holds extravagant parties every weekend that often are filled with everyone in town. His true intentions of holding this shindigs so often is to attract his former flame Daisy, Nick's cousin, to see if he can relight their flame that was never fully blown out.
This is a very festive time for this country. January is a very busy month wrought with festivities as Carnevale comes in and proceeds up until Ash Wednesday. Carnevale as you can imagine just like in New Orleans is filled willed colorful pageants, masquerades, singing and dancing and so much more. Although this is celebrated throughout Italy, Each little village and town has their own unique way of celebrating. The celebrations usually continue for many hours into the night and usually end with the sounds of fireworks permeating the air.
Eric Sylvester English 102 February 21, 2013 Louisiana is known for its diverse culture and traditions. One of the most well-known traditions Louisiana culture is Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is music, parades, picnics, floats, and excitement for the entire family to enjoy. Everyone is usually wearing purple, green, and gold colors, and people are adorned with long colorful beads and goodies that are caught from the beautiful decorated floats. During Mardi Gras, most families sit on the ground throwing balls, playing music, having a picnic, and watching crowds of people walk between the floats.
New Orleans has a “gumbo”, if you will, of different races. The culture is like no other. To some, it is considered a place of voodoo and rituals. This is not entirely true. Mardi Gras occurs every year and is considered the “biggest free party” on earth.
