Career Goals To share a career goal is so much different than what it used to be, yet much easier. What was once an objective to reach the ultimate heights in the corporate world, has now evolved to simply love and serve the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. In some part, this would mean pursuing the vision which the Lord has given so many years ago. That vision would entail reaching out to people who are considered the “less fortunate” of this world. This could be the hungry, the lonely, the naked, the sick – or even more applicable for today’s society – the unemployed. Whether this is the result of alcoholism, drug abuse, prior incarceration, economic hardship due to the recession, or merely making bad decisions, these are those that are in need of hope. Though such “helps” programs can be operated through counseling, mentoring, job placement and/or a feeding ministry, none can be more importantly stressed than that of the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have recently been impacted by a book, entitled “Revolution in World Missions”, written by K.P. Yohannan, Founder of Gospel for Asia. In it, reference was given to the current state of hospitals, orphanages, schools, etc., once built and established by Christian organizations, for various reasons, have gone away from emphasizing in sharing the Gospel to solely catering to physical needs. Mr. Yohannan went on to say that more people are going to Hell better nourished, better educated and better clothed – all due to Christian ministries. Should we, as Christians, feed the hungry, clothe the naked and visit the prisoner and minister to the orphans and widows? Absolutely! Should we do so at the risk of compromising the Great Commission? Lord, help us. It is indeed the goal of this writer to reach out to those who are in need of hope. However, it is not enough to teach
