The purpose and benefits of continuously improving my own performance at work is to exceed my limitations, achieve personal goals, increase income, self-motivation, to attain standard performance, to exceed my actual performance, benefits of progressing my career and job satisfaction. 1.2 Explain the purpose and value of encouraging and accepting feedback from others. The benefits of encouraging and accepting feedback is to help me improve my work, learn from my mistakes and to help me feel more confident in the work that I am doing. Feedback also helps us see ourselves from the perspective of others - to see ourselves as others see us.

Another way how an human resource department can make a pleasant environment for employees is through employee development. Development is an extension of training which motivates employees to be more productive. Development provides indicates that there is a possibility for advancement, thus improving work moral. There are several methods in which the human resource department can achieve an improvement in work moral through training. Human resource and companies can establish in-house training and some incentives in which employees will receive training for free or will be compensated after the training is complete.
The QRB course will directly aid me in my future in Corporate America and as a self-employed entrepreneur. It is absolutely necessary that I become “numbers” minded. In order to become an effective manager, I must think in terms of money. This would include concepts (and vocabulary) such as Return on Investment (ROI), revenue, profit, and sales. I will have to be an analytical thinker, which includes picking pieces of information apart, putting them together, deciphering what is fact versus what is fiction.
This exercise sets out everything I find important to myself and put a value upon it. This gives priority a new meaning because placing value on family and salary and certain things you want and need out of a job make a difference on what kind of job that maybe in mind. This creates an action plan in which requires a person to set limits to what needs to be given up for what job you want or want to work up too. Setting career priorities define my goals and help me look for a job because it makes me want to accomplish every goal I set for myself, so I can be happy and have everything I need to live and survive with. It is important when evaluating career variables because it helps me define my potential and where I want to spend my time working.
My goal is to apply the knowledge gain in each course and reinforcing it in my professional career, and at the same time make a positive social change in my community. This is one of the goals listed by Walden’s Mission, Vision, and Goals statements. Focusing in applying academic knowledge with real-life experiences provides a stronger gain for future wroth, and more value to my personal development. Another important outcome listed by Walden University goals is to appreciate, respect, and advocate for diversity. For me personally, this was one of the reasons for choosing Walden University, as well as selecting my field of studies.
After reviewing my scores in the questionnaire I would like my directive and achievement-oriented leadership skills to improve. I feel that to be a more directive leader I need to explain in more detail how things should be done as well as creating a timeline of when the task should be completed. I don’t normally give a timeline because I do feel that most people are competent in their jobs and are able to complete them. However, placing deadlines on things would speed up the flow of work being accomplished. I also need to improve my achievement-oriented leadership in order to challenge others to excel and push my peers to higher levels of success.
