As the first characters to be introduced in the novel, Steinbeck needs to present George and Lennie in a way which explains in great detail about who they are and their relationship with each other and the novel itself. I am exploring how Steinbeck presents their characters and their relationship through examining their individual characters and their relationship as a whole. The first thing that Steinbeck mentions about George and Lennie is their appearance. "Both were dressed in denim trousers and in denim coats with brass buttons. Both wore black, shapeless hats and both carried tight blanket rolls slung over their shoulders."
Army military became fascinated by the design of the British tunic, much of the clothing for the American soldiers was manufactured in England. The tunic’s and overcoats were the same for all ranks they had high collars pockets and shoulder straps. In 1908 there was a blue denim work uniform and wool coat provided to wear while working but not at war. In 1917 the uniform for war consisted of the khaki tunic and olive trousers that were tapered at the bottom of the leg. The soldiers were also issued a steel helmet with a chin strap to provide protection but the steel helmet wasn’t that helpful in providing protection, they were also issued boots and a gas mask, this was one form of a completed uniform.
As the Native people of the Subarctic Shield Archaic followed suit, Pre-Dorset peoples occupied the abandon interior land. However, by 800 B.C., all evidence of them disappears. The story of Arctic Small Tool tradition in Manitoba, represented by the Pre-Dorset occupation, is significant in that the sites represent the most southerly occupation of this culture. Giddings (1953) first identified it in northern Manitoba. The Thyazzi Site on the North Knife River was later tested by Nash in 1965 and assigned to an early to mid-Pre-Dorset occupation on the basis of the lithic assemblage (Nash 1969:48).

In what context can craft be placed historically and how has it changed over the 20th century? To investigate this I will first look at the key political ideologies over the last two centuries in order to contextualise Post Modernism and its resulting effects. I will also briefly outline the major art movements such as the Arts and Crafts movement, the Bauhaus and Modernism within the art world as they have been key in the resulting development of Post Modernism. The role and perception of contemporary craft over the last two centuries has changed dramatically both within the art world and society as a whole.
“Glamour”, “Vogue”, “Cosmopolitan” all about one thing - about fashion. Recently I came across this word so often. In my opinion fashion is something that accompanies humanity from the very beginning of civilization. As a rule, the fashion phenomenon still quite changeable, every year and even more often it is changing, moving into new forms, and sometimes returning to the past forms that were popular a few years and even decades ago. Fashion reflects the current reality.
