The members of my church community have provided me with the support and encouragement to achieve my goals. In addition, my peers in the church community through their hard work and successes have encouraged me to pursue my own goals. They have served as role models for me and I hope that I can serve as a role model for the next generation. Being involved in both my school and church communities has stimulated my academic and personal growth by the presence of role models in the community, the high expectations, and the encouragement that I received as a part of both. I have become a better student, a better thinker, a better leader, and a more mature
Christian Education is a part of God’s purpose to put everything in Creation under the feet of Christ; it serves as part of His purpose to subdue people from all nations to the glory of God. I also think a Christian Education is a better education, because it feed the soul as well as the mind. It addresses the whole human being; it involves the body, sprit and the mind. One important goal of Christian Education is to teach the student to reason biblically. If each adult person or the parents of younger student took it upon themselves to be more Christ-like and build their foundation of education to glorify God, they would choose the Christian Education over the Public Education, which is controlled by the state.
The only person we need to be like, as a servant leader is Jesus. He shows us how to lead by example in ( John 13:2-17). We need to listen, sit quietly with the Lord, to hear His plan, so we well be able to help others grow, in the Lord. We need empathy, people need to be accepted and recognized for their ideas and feelings. We need Awareness, of what you can change, for our- selfs and others to be a better servant leader.
What I mean with that is that anymore can volunteer and contribute, but the bond is stronger when the people who do volunteer strongly believe in the mission and purpose of the organization that they are emphasizing their contributions. I know for me, I am logical thinker if I find something that makes sense to me or aligns with my core values then my efforts will be stronger. The elements that I feel resonate the most with high devotion of civic engagement would be social impact and cultural aspect. Because if it’s regarding a social impact then you know its going to be for a good cause since social impact is about the well being that is being promoted for the community. If you are someone who cares about people and especially with people in the community then the devotion will be to its highest potential.
Purpose Sanders’ Spiritual Leadership begins with an initial assumption that readers are looking to begin or strengthen their leadership skills as it relates to the ongoing work of God in the world and through the body of Christ. He takes the readers through many examples of sacred and secular attributes of what leadership looks like and provides examples of various styles. The quest to become a leader, or better leader, is a good one, yet Sanders does not want to give a false impression of the realities of spiritual leadership. The needs, responsibilities, cost and perils of leadership are plainly put forth to be straight forward with the reader of all that could and will be required of spiritual leadership positions. Believing that God is searching for leaders to bring about changes on the earth, he begins the book by highlighting the principle: true greatness, true leadership, is found in giving yourself in service to others, not in manipulating others to serve you, admonishing, “we must put more into life that we take out," and that history will only remember a man for "the quality of his deeds and the character of his mind and heart" (15).
