Comment on C&C’s business model – how does it create value? What are its advantages? C&C’s business model was a mail order flower business model. It provided customers with faster and fresher flowers in 1 or 2 days because it revolutionized the model of fresh flower selling by eliminating 3 levels of distribution (distributor, wholesaler and retailer). Also, since it established direct linkages with growers by the help of FedEx, the final cost reduced.

FJR has discussed the research with management and highly recommends that they do not open any new locations until further research has been done in other areas. It is very expensive and time consuming opening new locations and Kudler does not have the financial means to do so just yet. What Kudler Fine Foods needs to focus their attention on is other competitor in the market. They can offer coupons or special promotions towards maybe the first of the month which will attract consumers into purchasing more products because most consumers get paid at that time. Kudler will also advertise to the Asian community by having advertisements in their language.
More importantly, it hurts the lives of the many people that were working for Hostess. They can't make a living without a job, without a job they wouldn't have the money to pay for their bills or even their house and might even add to the growing population of homeless people. It would also hurt the states in which the bakeries or plants were shut down. Also, the liquidation affects the people who love Hostess, people who grew up with Hostess, and the new-coming babies that won't be able to enjoy any of their products anymore. The Union is supposed to help the economy, not take away businesses that will help it.
Being in a foraging society had some advantages and disadvantages and being in an urbanized society also had some advantages and disadvantages. In a foraging society they heavily relied on weather since they had to find there own food and that was a bad disadvantage. If there was good weather then they could go out and search for food but if there was bad weather then it would be extremely difficult to search for and get food and in the Paleolithic age, they needed all the food they could get in order to survive. In an urbanized society, they relied on weather too but they often would have surplus so they did not rely on it as much. In a foraging society, they had to hunt and gather their own food which was a big disadvantage because that means they had to constantly be moving around because one area could not keep a society alive for a whole lifetime.

It is very hard for the dealerships to be able put their names behind a product that is difficult to keep in stock as todays consumers are on a “I want it now” basis. The advantage to this strategy is that if you have marketed and advertised properly, there will be demand at the dealerships from your product. If you are able to keep the dealerships properly stocked, then they will be pleased, as well as the customers and you will make your money back from all that costly advertising. A disadvantage would be that it will take resources to be able to keep items in constant stock and staff to ensure that logistics is running

The idea may come up that if we put the Buy Nothing day to use in the United States, stores would not close down and it would help the society economically recover; however, stores may lose money and may not be able to recover. Some stores may depend on a daily consumers to buy from their stores.
