Business writing – types, content and purpose Business writing plays significant role in nowadays society. Mostly it is because of people needing to find a job. To complete this purpose one needs to know how to write Curriculum Vitae (CV), application and referral letter etc. This essay deals with types, content and purpose of business writing. ‘Business writing usually involves only retelling facts and the language does not vary far from a business type model because it has to be understood by many people’ (Online 1). It means that in business writing one should give concrete examples, concrete facts about one-self. For example, in CV person is asked to fill out his First name and Surname, date of birth, address, phone number, education – what kind of education he/she has, where did he/she got it, work experience and personal skills, which includes language skills, driving licence and others. An application letter is meant to show one’s best features, combined with work experience; it is meant to show how much one wants to get the job and what features he/she has over the other candidates. In addition to the application letter one should get at least one reference letter from his/her preliminary superior, or his/her good friend who could guarantee that the person is the one the employer would like to consider as an employee. This letter should show all the good qualities a person has. Moreover, business writing helps us to develop our writing skills. Most of the people only can express themselves in long writing works, such as essays. They are used to use a lot of epithets’ and idioms, but business writing shows people and teach him or her how to write only facts. That is the way to express yours best qualities, achievements and willing to find a great job. All in all business writing is meant to gain an opportunity of getting a job, which is very important
