Arguably, one of these factors, and perhaps the most important factor, is business. Most economists argue that business plays a pivotal role, precisely, acting as the engine for successful economic growth as well as development. One of the most important contributions of business in the economy is creating employment opportunities. It is evident that the government cannot provide employment opportunities for all the people within the country (Anheier and Rudney, 2008). Therefore, businesses act as source of employment opportunities, in addition to those that are created by the government. Closely related to provision of employment, is improving the welfare of people within the society. In addition to being a source of income to most people, businesses also play a significant role in distribution of resources or rather products. This kind of distribution is very important in the economy, as it facilitates consumption which in turn ensures that there is continues production, contributing to economic growth and development. Compare and contrast the roles of for-profit and nonprofit organizations in the economy Arguably, for-profit and nonprofit organizations play a very significant role in the economy. One of these roles includes provision of employment opportunities. Both for-profit and nonprofit organizations operate a system, which is made up of various departments.
