In the retail service industry I have chosen are Wal-Mart and Sam Clubs stores to write about the business process change they are going through in their organization.Wal-Mart has 276 stores nation wide and employed 21,000 associates at these stores. According to Wal-Mart mission they want to “help people to save money so they can live better.” (Sam Walton the founder of Wal-Mart) Mr. Walton wants everybody to be able to save their money and be able to live life without spending more to live a better with their low prices at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has become a major player in the Service Industry. Wal-Mart serves customers and members 200 million times per week worldwide. Wal-Mart open in 1962 in Roger, Arkansas. This is Sam Walton purpose for the company “If we work together, we’ll lower the cost of living for everyone… we’ll give the world an opportunity to see what it’s like to save and have a better life” (as cited, What We DO, 2010, Para. 1). Mr. Walton did indeed a great vision for his company. Sam did believe in cutting out the middle then Wal-Mart would be able to save customers money. Sam Walton founded his company on values and morals. Also, Sam believe his customers should be treated with respect.
