Business ethics is exactly the same as normal ethics, and that knows what is right or wrong, and learning what is right and what is wrong in a business environment. Then doing the right thing, but "the right thing" is not as straightforward as explained in many business ethics books. Most ethical dilemmas in the workplace are not simply a matter of "Should she steal from him?" or "Should he lie to his boss?" Businesses cannot function without ethics, why?
However, when it comes to management positions I believe that Tanglewood should first look at their internal associates. Typically, those associates already know the culture of the business and the mission of the company. Core or Flexible Workforce: I don’t recommend the use of flexible workforce for Tanglewood. I say that because having a rotating schedule of associates like that doesn’t maintain the consistency that the company needs. Each person that comes in will have a different view on the business.
When you break down what a manager means to a business. The manager is so much more than just a manager, their the educator, planner, analyzer, resource and whatever else the company needs to move forward. Whether it’s Amazon, GE or the NBA a manager takes advantage of market inefficiencies or finds previously undiscovered niches. Managers that can take advantage of these findings take on the characteristics of entrepreneurs, however, they are not entrepreneurs because they work to redirect the inputs of existing companies rather than create new forms of product. I think that Solomon’s argument is fairly accurate, but everyone’s views are different on this. Some actions may be acceptable to some but unacceptable to others. Ethics provides the bigger picture in the business life and it must be understood. In my opinion, nothing is more dangerous to a business than a bad public image caused by being unethical.
