Running head: MADE IN THE U.S.A--- 1 Made in the U.S.A Zaw K Oo Columbia College Running head: MADE IN THE U.S.A--- 2 Abstract On April 7, The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) today announced it is banning the sale of any children's clothing containing the flame-retardant chemical tris (2,3,-dibromopropyl) phosphate, commonly known as Tris. The ban also extends to any Tris-treated fabric that is uncut but is intended for sale to consumers for use in children's wearing apparel. Tris-treated children's garments which have been purchased by consumers but have not yet been washed are also banned. Tris is not only the example of dumping. There were the 450000 baby pacifiers, of the type known to have caused choking deaths. 400 Iraqis were dead and 5000 were hospitalized after eating wheat and barley treated with a U.S banned organic mercury fungicide. So, what dumping considers------ Running head: MADE IN THE U.S.A--- 3 Explain what dumping is, giving some examples. Does dumping raise any moral issues? What are they? What would an ethical relativist say about dumping? Any product that has been banned or declared hazardous in the United States and ship those products to abroad in the means of exporting are called Dumping. First of all, dumping results in the following: it hurts the domestic country’s industry and producers, impacts the sale volume, hurts the markets share, triggers decline in profitability, lead to jobs success and cause material injuries.
