Business Administration L2 Questions Unit 201:- Manage own performance in a business environment Q1:- Outline guidelines, procedures and codes of practice relevant to personal work (1.1) The guidelines procedures and codes of practice relevant to my work are important as they give me information on how to carry out my job effectively and safely. Guidelines: - How to answer the phone, dress code, how to answer customer queries, how to use company software to give quotes to customers, how to handle e-mail, how to store and retrieve information, both electronic and paper based information, how to use office equipment correctly and safely and how to follow all Health and Safety guidelines to ensure the safety of myself and others in the workplace. Procedures: - I must follow the correct procedures for fire drills and fire safety in general, reporting and recording accidents at work, contacting work if I am going to be absent and first aid procedures. Codes of practice:- Health and Safety at work, The Data Protection Act, Trading Standards; good customer service, working safely, freedom of information and privacy of personal data and ensure that I follow all legislation relevant to my job role. Q2:- Explain the purpose of planning work and being accountable to others for your own work (1.2) Planning is essential to time management and involves organising and prioritising work. This means that if you do not plan your work properly, you will not succeed in making the best of your working day and will not achieve the best results. By taking a little time out at the beginning of your day to plan your work, you will dramatically improve your productivity and work efficiency and you will also have an ‘at-a-glance’ checklist of your tasks for the day, which you can then check off as you complete each one.
