The importance of leadership is very functional in businesses today. Leadership tends to be defined as having a clear vision while communicating it to others and resolving issues between persons who is accountable for obtaining the goals of the organization. His openness and the way he has help strengthen the overall communication has won him support throughout the company. The trust part he would be in between as not being a very complicated person and driven. He is very open about his agenda and goals set as being CEO of Ford. Mulally is so open about it that he created plastic cards with four goals on one side and a adjusted definition of the organization on the other that highlight the focus of “One Ford-One Team, One Plan and One Goal (Hellriegel/Slocum 2011).” Evaluate the effectiveness of Mullay’s leadership style and recommend whether he should continue with this style, or use a different style. Profits have really been picking up for Ford. With not killing the Ford Taurus and now being of the car in dealer showrooms, Alan Mulally has proven that his leadership style is effective and recommended. With the economic being in a slump he has done a remarkable job with spiraling Ford Motor Company into a winning direction. Mulally’s methods of communication and generalization to restructure the process of automotive has made Ford a more efficient company in recent months. I think he should continue his leadership style so that Ford and continue to advance at the op of the automotive industry.
