I want to begin a new business in a little community that I love to be in and also be able to see a stronger bond between my community. The best way to bring a community together is to have them sit down together and have lunch or dinner. Being a responsible individual, I think I will be a successful business owner in opening a restaurant, in such a small town. I am not afraid to try new things and take a leadership roles to a higher level. For instance, in my high school I am involved in many extracurricular activities.
It is evident that Americans choose Red Lobster over other casual seafood dining restaurants due to their reasonably priced menu selections, restaurant cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. Over the years, Red Lobster’s passion for seafood and delicious experiences has kept them evolving. Red Lobster continually introduced guests to fresh dishes that quickly became favorites, with many guests getting their first taste of calamari, snow crab and Key lime pie. Their menu has grown and changed with their guests’ tastes and they pride themselves for being able to bring the best of the sea to your table. Red Lobster, the inventors of popcorn shrimp, menu provides choices for any lover of seafood or even an individual with seafood allergies.

As for their food supply, they have made a point to become aware of where all of the sources of their products so that they can be sure they are providing the best of quality foods. I will discuss different strengths about Chipotle Mexican Grill as well as weaknesses they made need to improve on. While being an avid customer at Chipotle myself I can vouch that you can be sure to have a very pleasurable experience when dining with them. Within the research that I have done I have only come up with more reason to continue to be a customer at Chipotle. One of the main strengths that I feel they hold is the relationship that the company holds with the suppliers.
Restaurant Evaluation Sugar Island is a Jamaican restaurant located in Snellville, Georgia. “Everything’s Irie, come dine with us” was the captivating slogan on the building that caught my attention. At first the concept was hard to grasp, especially if you’re not Jamaican. The term “Irie” is defined as a state of feeling great and at peace. The theme of the restaurant had me curious about three things.
Kay Atizan is known for serving all Haitian dishes, rather than the other Caribbean entrees often served at nearby restaurants. Haiti, a French and Creole speaking country has a unique array of food; they have deep roots influenced by French, Spanish, Africans, and Native Taino techniques. Haitian cuisine is known for its abundant use of meats and vegetables. They also use an extensive amount of herbs and spices to enhance flavor, making many dishes moderately spicy. While there, I learned Haitians are very fond of desserts and sweets.
The passion that comes from the ability of taking what food you have and turning it into something magnificent is cooking well. It is a calling. A yearning from deep inside you that makes you turn out food that keeps people talking for years. Recipes that get passed down from generation to generation, not because they were served at Michelin starred restaurants, or that they were even particularly good, but because they evoke memories of happy times. Cooking well is having respect for not only who you are cooking for, but acknowledging where your food comes from - not only the farmer, but animals too.
African-Americans, unable to obtain ingredients indigenous to Africa, found familiarity in the sweet potato, eggplant, and turnips, and incorporated these flavors into their cuisine. Both cultures used food and communal eating as forms of socialization, and immigrants soon found that their foodways became a source of identity. The mothers and wives were revered for the hearty food they prepared and thus responsible for creating this intimate connection to past. Because the kitchen, and everything involved with it was so central to family unity, it would not be ridiculous to claim that for many cultures, the kitchen was the heart that pumped the blood, or in this case food, to the rest of the family. Through historical works such as Hasia Diner’s Hungering for America, Alice A. Deck’s “Now Then—Who Said Biscuits?”- The Black Woman Cook as Fetish in American Advertising, 1905-1953, Tracey N. Poe’s “The Origins of Black Soul Food in Urban Identity: Chicago, 1915-1947”, and Harvey Levenstein’s “The American Response to Italian Food, 18880-1930”, one can analyze both the Italians and African-American’s response towards their cultural identity.
Appetizing food not only tastes delicious but also presents itself nicely. Mom’s home cooked food can be an exception, but attractive presentation is a crucial marketing strategy in the food industry. There is a restaurant that I value as my all-time-favorite: Secret Recipe. Secret Recipe is a dessert focused restaurant that satisfies the five sensory cravings blissfully; especially taste and sight. When passing by Secret Recipe, it is always temping to grab the glass handle of the entry door and experience the sweet presence of fresh baked treats.
