Assignment 1: Entrepreneurial Leadership 1. Analyze and describe the founding leader(s), leadership style, and major business principles of a profit-oriented entrepreneurial approach in which the primary goal is to provide a product or service to consumers and to make a profit. Thomas Edison performed his business dealings with reckless abandon. He worked and drove himself to becoming one of the greatest inventors/businessmen of all time. He rarely cared for anything else outside of his very small circle. Edison wanted to make a profit, but his true goal was to make a difference and create a monster legacy that will live through the ages. While developing an industrial research lab, the first of its kind, he was surprised about the reception it received. With that recognition his drive towards the future with more inventions grew heavy. The light bulb was already developed Edison just made the necessary improvement by adding filament to make it more efficient and less of a drag on the energy grid. Edison made other advances in the electrical, mechanical, and chemical. With all of these fields being covered by him and a select few assistants, Edison was simply creating patents and selling them to the highest bidder. Once the transaction was done, he began to design and create other innovations that can be sold and used to the global community. Peter Drucker was simply a man way ahead of his time. His application to the business and political landscape is timeless and still practiced today. Drucker focused on the human capitol within an organization. At the time a lot of business minds were applying their skills to the transaction of sales. Drucker simply used his talents to consult and advise companies on creating positive business practices and an efficient hierarchy.
