Case Study Analysis Jennifer COMM/215 August 9, 2010 Mary-Beth Brophy Case Study Analysis Introduction A company should already have in place a procedural manual for the hiring and training of new employees and trainees. Carl discovered too late, several issues that he would have had to formalize and/or define and have in place, prior to implementing new trainee orientation. In this paper, I will discuss the issues that Carl is faced with and present solutions that could be used to avoid similar issues. Background ABC, Inc. was looking to hire some people to work with Monica Carrolls, the operations supervisor. Carl Robins, the new campus recruiter for ABC, Inc., was in charge of recruiting several people to fill these positions.
3.2: Where a complaint can not be resolved immediately, young people are asked to complete a comments and complaints form and all external complainants are asked to put their complaint in writing and they will then follow our company complaints procedure which consists of 3 stages; First stage, informal: The complaint is handed to the Home Manager, or deputy in their absence and a meeting would be arranged to establish whether the complaint can be dealt with through negotiation, arbitration or mediation. This meeting and the outcome will be recorded. If the complainant remains dissatisfied or it could not be dealt with through this channel it will move to stage two. This first stage should be dealt with within 72 hours of the complaint being logged. Second stage, Formal: An investigating officer will be appointed who will meet with the complainant and establish the nature and gravity of the complaint, they will investigate the complaint and produce a report.

Fewer companies are willing to enter the market because of the SOX requirements that make going public too costly. Plus, the maintenance required to stay public is too expensive for smaller companies, forcing companies to look elsewhere to raise capital. Rising costs persuade large numbers of companies to exit the public markets to sidestep SEC regulation, creates two problems. First, the overall economy could suffer because corporations limit investment projects due to the higher-cost sources of capital to fund potentially new operations. Second, financially stressed companies that go dark are the very companies’ shareholders need to monitor usually and where transparency is most important.
Because the company must produce all financial information to the SEC many businesses find it to be very stressful and time consuming which takes time and money away from a company that is thriving like Kudler Fine Foods. Legal liability is important when conducting an IPO and those offering the shares can be personally sued. The expenses continue after the company goes public with the SEC reporting requirements. Many Americans did not trust these new business ideas and the “Sherman antitrust act” came into play. Small business owners and farmers felt like they were being pushed around and treated unfairly by these corporations. The next issue that people had with business was the new labor laws. People were working outrageous hours, in unsafe areas, and on top of that getting paid vey low wages. The working citizens expressed their need for the government to interject into the issues and
