Cyber bullying can have a longer lasting effect on the victim. It can be humiliating due to the fact that it has a bigger audience opposed to the kids on the playground. There are many warning signs that could indicate that someone is involved in bullying. Some of the signs include the following; they come home with damaged or missing clothing, they have thing such as electronics and jewelry come up lost, and they have unexplained injuries and complain frequently of feeling sick. They can hurt themselves, and they can lose interest in school, friends and activities that they used to enjoy.
Bullying could cause some effect on victim; it could cause victims to have low self-esteem and other problems later in life. In some cases victims of bullying could cause a person to avoid family because they do not like to be bothered. Victims of bullying doesn’t get helps at early stage, it could lead to them having issues in a long run, which could lead to psychological issues. Bullying is all begin from having power and abuse the other
Bullying does not just affect the victim, inadvertently; it affects everyone the victim is associated with too. Bullying should be seen as a crime because it ruins the targets chances at a normal and happy childhood, which everyone is rightfully entitled to, it destroys children’s and adolescents self-esteem, puts them into a depression, they may stop attending school which will in turn lower their grades, and it can even lead to self-harm and suicide. Usually children look forward to making friends at school and playing games with others, but if a child is bullied, they then become an outcast and slowly start reproaching socializing with society. The ones who have been bullied are usually the more subdued and quiet children. They probably do not speak in class or in a group and usually tend to avoid team sports and activities because they do not want to be chosen last.
Self-harm has many long term affects which can be very serious. If a person is misusing substances, they may become dependent on it, and suffer symptoms when they do not take any of the substance. It may also affect an adult’s mental health, leaving psychological and emotional scars, because they have felt so worthless and poorly of themselves that they will always carry this memory with them. If the adult was cutting themselves or burning themselves, they will carry scars from this. These scars may lower self-esteem in the long term as the individual may feel ashamed, also other people may see these scars causing embarrassment or bringing up bad memories so they can never forget.
They will lack confidence to find it hard confide in other people or seek out help and advice. This can also lead them to be drawn into ‘the wrong crowd’ because these people seem welcoming and as a result find themselves being manipulated. They can also feel pressurised by their ‘peers’ into experimenting with drugs and alcohol at a very young age. They wouldn’t have the confidence to stand up for themselves. As they get older their insecurities may lead to self harm and possibly developing some form of addiction.
A person who has a borderline personality disorder is often insecure of himself. His self-identity or self-image often changes rapidly. He may view himself as evil, or sometimes feel like he does not exist at all. This unstable self-image may lead to frequent shifts in jobs and friendships, and changes in values and goals. A borderline personality disorder can affect personal relationships because it can make you idealize someone at one moment and then dramatically swing to hatred over minor misunderstandings.
Cyberbullying: Victim, Predator, and Bystander Cyberbullying has received a great deal of media attention lately due to an increasing number of suicides by the victims. These victims are so traumatized by the relentless taunting they feel the only way to escape their predator is to kill their self. Does this make cyberbullying worse than face-to-face bullying psychologically? I think it is worse. The attempt at suicide almost doubles for victims of cyberbullying than their non-cyberbullied counterparts (Hinduja & Patchin, 2010).
Spanking is however still widely used as a means to punish kids across the world. Some have opposed it as a great idea to punish kids owing to it being able to affect their emotions as well as psychology. After being beaten so much the child will only behave when subjected to pain. This only result in more pain as a way to deal with those kids found to have hardened leading to abuse. Most of those found to result to spanking may be frustrated, and only trying to express their emotions.
When children start to abuse the convenience of the internet by harassing other people, the internet becomes very dangerous. What makes cyber bullying so dangerous? Cyber bullying is dangerous because it has the ability to take the smallest incident and build up so much tension around it that it results in a murder or suicide. Some people may blame the victim for lacking self control and not being able to ignore the situation. Some people may claim it was just a joke and may blame the victim for being too sensitive or insecure.
Bullying is a plague that creeps up on schools and spreads through rumors, causing innocent students to suffer. This is serious because, bullying is harmful towards anyone, especially to those in school. It could distract students from their studies and create a low self-esteem that can ruin future careers. Now there are already laws towards bullying such as discrimination, assault, and harassment, but those laws need to be enforced. However they are not, because in most cases of bullying it is usually one person’s word against the others.
