Solutions for Bullying
We all know that now more than ever, bullying is a serious and sometimes deadly issue. Thanks to today’s technology the information about just how dangerous bullying can be to children, is readily available. Even with the availability of information, bullying continues to be a dangerous trend in and out of schools. Some schools are creating awareness programs about bullying and self-esteem. While this is a very good thing, we can see now that even more effort needs to be made to keep kids safe from one another. In this essay we will discuss many different solutions for bullying. From creating different programs within schools, to using volunteers from psychology programs or child development programs to evaluate the schools. As I have found in my research, there are many possible solutions to bullying, but the main one is simply awareness and participation. (Jonsson) Schools need to make the issue known, and then participate in different programs to help prevent bullying in the first place.
There are numerous specific strategies that can be performed in schools, and more personally for classrooms.   The first task that must be tackled on anti-bullying is education.   Administrators, teachers, and students must all be educated fully on the causes and effects of bullying.   To educate students, they can be administered surveys to find out how much they know about bullying.   For teachers, there should be workshops, and conferences to educate about bullying behaviors, response strategies, and available resources.  
One possible solution for bullying is to use volunteers from college psychology and developmental courses to come into schools and observe the kids. These students could help see potential dangerous interactions and talk to the children involved.
