She possesses the following traits: has a vision that she and others have come to believe in, has self-control, is fair, isn’t afraid of risk or criticism, works by a plan, goes above and beyond on everything she does, is very likeable, is sympathetic to employees personalities and problems, pays attention to detail, and is cooperative in building a team she can work with rather than make demands of. Another trait is coping. Great leaders are great copers. Leaders who possess this trait are able to adapt creatively and effectively to challenge and change. She is able to recover quickly from setbacks, opens up to employees and people around her, and is aware of her own motivations, strengths, and shortcomings. Other characteristics and achievements she has that has led to her success are that she is a great communicator, she is flexible in finding new ways to reach the goals of the company, and she is able to talk and listen to all employees to earn respect. She thinks along the lines of equality in how everyone should feel as if their job is as important as others. She likes to make sure all employees, including herself, share the same goals. She also has unquestionable commitment. The predecessors did not seem to care about taking the time to listen to their employees and even about earning their respect. They did not take the time to learn about all aspects of every job and they were obviously not very committed. Donna possesses many types of power. One is reward power, which means that each person is motivated differently (salary increase, promotion, etc.) and the managers have to adapt to those.
