Brett Favre has been forever looked up for in football. From his incredible record breaking achievements to his performance in the game, fans have seen him as the untouchable hero. He comes from a marriage of 14 years and just became a grandfather this year.(Wilner,2) Favre was looking forward to a great 41st birthday until; lewd photos of Favre were being spread around the internet from television personality Jennifer Sterger. Sterger is an actress, model and television host that wasn’t too known before this scandal. Sterger is involved with the New York Jets by introducing the dance team, making announcements to the crowd and asking trivia questions. The story of Macbeth consists of a young captain finding out 3 prophecies of the future and making the rest of his remaining days a rollercoaster ride for him and his close friends and family. The main characters in Macbeth are Duncan, Banquo, Lady Macbeth, and Macbeth himself. Each of these characters has their own set of traits that show us how they are examples of appearance versus reality. The theme of appearance versus’ reality relates to Macbeth in a number of different ways. The first way the theme is shown is through the main character Macbeth. Macbeth was a captain of Scotland’s army when he came across 3 witches, they predicted three very important prophecies, Macbeth will be the Thane of Cawdor, He will become king, and Banquo’s children will carry on the throne not Macbeth’s. Soon after a messenger brings the information that Macebeth is named the new Thane of Cawdor because the old thane betrayed Duncan. Learning this new found information Macebeth starts to wonder and dream as to what it would be like to be king. Should he kill Duncan or shouldn’t he? Stars, hide your fires! Let not light see my black and deep desires. (Shakespeare, 1.4 50-51) These prophecies start to develop vindictive thoughts in his head to take over control of Duncan’s empire but he pushed them aside. Brett Favre a well respected man in the NFL commits the crime of harassment to a 29 year old news caster that shocked the football world. The man that has been married for 14 years and had recently just became a grandfather sent racy and sexy text messages to television personality and model Jennifer Sterger. But according to recent stories and investigations it was not his first time with the sexting scandal. From the outside the all-star quarter back seemed to have it all, the family, the career, the success, and the fame until you take one step closer and view what happens behind closed doors. The same goes for the story of Macbeth, a well trusted man of the king plots a way to kill him to in return for the throne. None of Duncan’s followers or acquaintances of Macbeth would ever suspect him of the murder because of how well Duncan and Macbeth got along and how Duncan looked up to him. In the end, Macbeth was guilty of more than one murder and was defeated. This theme relates to books and news stories but in real life relationships as well. As much as you want to trust a friend, or a family member, you never know if they have a hidden agenda. You may think you know someone so well until things go drastically wrong. And it is proven here that you cannot trust anyone but
