Essay - Boyz in the Hood The film “Boyz in the Hood” directed by John Singleton has one key scene, the death of ricky. This scene is important because Ricky is one of the main characters and we as an audience, see him grow up from a young boy to a young teenager. Ricky creates a positive image of black people by getting through his SAT scores. This scene shows the idea of black peoples gangs and their society. Ricky was shot by a local rival gang, we, the audience don't know the name of the person who shot him, this tells us that the person who shot the gun isn't very important, which also tells us that anyone can murder anyone in this society.
Boyz N the Hood (1991) is an influential film by Jon Singleton exploring issues and identity and race within a black community. Jon Singleton, who grew up in the ’hood’, directs Boyz N the hood considering the tensions created by lack of respect and focuses on the tensions between female and male characters. He also portrays the black American community in a very honest manner having grown up in the community himself. Another focus throughout the film is significance of guns, cars, costume and music. It closely focuses on what these signify from a character within the production.
Fruitvale Station was a 90-minute ambitious do-gooder film directed by Ryan Coogler, looking at the glimpse of the events leading up to the senseless murder of (Whitaker & Coogler, 2013). a young black man named Oscar Grant by a Bart police officer in 2009. I just don’t understand black men are humans are they not? Not monsters, but reflecting on what I watched and the way those young black men were treated I think otherwise. The movie in a nut about Oscar Grant, a 22-year young black man who had trouble in the past with the law, a beautiful young daughter, recently was fired from his job at the local supermarket.
American History X was directed by Tony Kaye and released in 1998. Thru flashbacks and the eyes of Danny Vinyard he tells of the story of his neo-Nazi brother who was second in command of the skin head gang named D.O.C. Derek, a natural leader and brilliant orator, began rounding up scared suburban white kids for his new gang and telling them that there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. This new craze became so popular among the kids of Venice Beach that Derek soon became an icon. After serving 3 years in jail and having a close friendship with an African American male he is release and he no longer wants to be associated with the D.O.C.

Much less to say women these days are getting mugged and raped more than ever so they have a right to be aware of their surroundings. Stereotyping is sadly carried on throughout generations.
