Boys are Human Since the beginning of time, men have always been blamed for ruining relationships. Many women use the same line, “All men are dogs!” or “He don’t treat me right.” What women do not know is that men actually try to show affection if they love you; but today’s culture is trying to keep that out of their minds. Modern culture portrays men as filthy beings that ruin relationships. In Beyonce’s song, “If I Were a Boy”, she sings, ”If I were a boy, I’d put myself first, and make the rules as I go, cause I know that she’d be faithful, waiting for me to come on home.” Men are portrayed as people that take advantage of their spouse or girlfriend and do not care that they’re doing it. They’re also shown as people who hurt their significant other because they know that they won’t leave them. In the reality series, “I Love New York”, Tiffany Pollard, also known as New York, states,” I want a man who won’t be the usual conniving bastard…” This demonstrates the modern cliché that is believed about men. It is really horrible that women think of men as being conniving bastards because of a small percentage of men that truly are. The Queen Latifah’s movie, “The Beauty Shop”, a character’s advice to a younger woman is,”…Don’t fall for their tricks, honey. All men cheat and all men lie…” This demonstrates how the cliché of has spread; from people giving advice to others. Modern culture is starting to pass down this cliché and eventually, almost every woman will believe it. In the song, “Like a Boy”, Ciara sings, “Front with your friends, act hard when your with them, keep a straight face when you tell a lie, always keep an airtight alibi, keep it in the dark, what he don’t know won’t break his heart.” Ciara is trying to place a bad image on men by saying that boys are liars and are no good.
