Analysis of the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission Decision. The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision was the most controversy Supreme Court case of the 21st century. According to the decision, corporation's funding candidate protected is under the First Amendment's free speech principle- that government cannot regulate political speech. The ruling of the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission classify corporation as people, "donation" to candidate as political speech, and election as a way of expression. Hence, suppressing the "speech" of "people” is unconstitutional.

Issue: Is polygamy constitutional? Decision: The Supreme Court unanimously decided that polygamy was unconstitutional. It was ruled that anti-polygamy laws did not prohibit the free exercise of religion; a man did not have the religious freedom to marry multiple wives. Opinion: The constitutionality of Reynolds v. US (1878) deals with the Free Exercise and Free Speech Clauses of the First Amendment. Polygamy can be considered to be free exercise of religion, which should force it to be protected under the Free Exercise clause.
The national bank was a creation of Hamilton’s for the government to deposit funds (taxes), print U.S. currency, and regulate all state banks. Thomas Jefferson was a man who represented the Demcratic-Republicans. Some of his contributions consist of the Articles of Confederation , and the Notes on the State of Virginia . The Articles of Confederation established the national government in 1777 and was used to weaken the central government in order to strengthen the individual state powered governments. As the Notes on the State of Virginia was Jefferson stating how America would remain strong if they remained to their rural roots.

The British throne, trying to pay off it's war debts and for the cost of protecting the colonists from local Native Americans, decided to impose taxes on the American colonists. There was the Revenue Act of 1764 (known to the US as the Sugar Act) that taxed sugar, silks, and wine, the Stamp Tax (imposed later because the Revenue Act did not bring in enough money) which taxed local papers and print services.
