I was so happy that I didn’t have to worry about the stress of this topic anymore. My parents were so proud that about how determined I was. Now I realize that it wasn’t until I completed the Geometry class in my junior year that I passed the regents in June of 2011. I believe this is because Geometry was the necessary class to take before Algebra II Trigonometry but the curriculum in my school district wasn’t set up that way, causing many students to fail. Many students who failed were “A Students” and never failed a test before this.
Since eighth grade I never really took anything the ConnCAP staff said to me seriously; it took me seventeen years to actually understand and realize how important college is and how important having a good education is. They have helped me in many ways by engaging me in meaningful learning experiences for the purpose of enhancing my basic skills and critical thinking. From grades eighth-twelfth, I’ve attended a ConnCAP Summer program for six weeks each summer. This has helped me improve my chances of competing in an advanced society by offering enrichment classes in the areas of math, science and English. During those six weeks I worked on material that helped me get ready for the next grade.
Noa Rassin AP Language 11 6 August 2014 Summer Reading: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Ernest Hemmingway once wrote, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called ‘Huckleberry Finn’” (Kakuani). When one thinks of an American classic, pieces like The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger or Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck come to mind. These classics are included in school curriculums and are read by most students before they graduate. The well-known classic, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, however, has been banned from some schools and its curriculums. Although The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is known to be an American Classic, some schools have banned it due to its controversial ideas,
TIM SCOTT - How Mentoring Changed My Life January 4, 2010 Growing up in a single-parent home left me a bit disillusioned about life. My parents divorced when I was around the age of 7. By the time I entered high school, I was completely off track. My mother was working hard, trying to help me to realize that there was a brighter future, but I really couldn’t see it. So by the time I entered the ninth grade, I was flunking out of high school.
And while I had my toys and my friends around I still had to be responsible about doing my homework and wake up every morning and wear my clothes to go to school. I learned to do everything by myself and. Finally after one year my dad decided that we can go to see my mom. At the first time, I did not feel anything when I saw her because I could not remember her as a mom. This really hurt me as
My eleventh grade year was also a disaster because of the struggle of passing my biology state test and I was really distracted and just wanted to go back to the alternative school but my mom and the principle would not send me back. My senior year I transferred to Christ Missionary and Industrial high school (college) the year flew by but I really enjoyed myself there. Now I am still here at CM&I , I supposed to be a summer graduate if everything goes as planned. Once I finish high school I plan on signing up for the air
The first time I had ever written was when I was around ten and things were kind of rough for me and my family. I just randomly whipped out a book and began writing about an adventure (which was strange considering I hated to read when I was young.) I think the Chronicles of Narnia had inspired me at that time. But when I really started pursuing writing was when I was in middle school and just bought my first laptop.

During the end of the first day of sophomore year I remember walking into the room "eight-zero-one" at my high school and thinking "why would the counselors give me a chorus class?" I didn't think of myself as a singer. I mean, playing piano for twelve year has been a great experience and I have always strived to achieve excellence in all classes, activities and groups to which I belong; but singing? I can only remember singing in the shower and occasionally to my dogs. As I took a seat, the chorus direction, Ms. Morrow, introduced herself and began to teach us how to read music.
Some friends reduced my pressure by their understanding about American students; “All they like to do is join in the party; you will never see them studying in the library more than three hours. The truth is you cannot compete with them in language, but you can compete with any American student in academic study, because they are so lazy.” I was so excited, even though I did not know if it was true or not. After a whole day trip, I found my dorm in PFT with a tired body and spirit. “What does my roommate like?” I was thinking before I opened the door. All the lights were on but no body was in the room.
