The Boeing 737 is a short- to medium-range twin-engine narrow-body jet airliner but before talking about the Boeing 737 i have to explain more about the company that made it the name of the company is Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) designs, assembles, markets and sells large commercial jet aircraft and provides product-related maintenance and training to customers worldwide. A business division of parent The Boeing Company, Boeing Commercial Airplanes operates from a division headquarters in Renton, Washington and more than one dozen engineering, manufacturing and assembly facilities located throughout the United States and internationally. Boeing Commercial Airplanes includes the assets of the Douglas Aircraft division of the former McDonnell Douglas Corporation, which merged with Boeing in 1997 it was Founded in 1916 and the reason why it called Boeing goes back to the founder because the company is named after William E. Boeing so now that we know the background of the company we can understand more about the Boeing 737 the 737 Originally developed as a shorter, lower-cost twin-engine airliner derived from Boeing's 707 and 727, the 737 has developed into a family of nine passenger models with a capacity of 85 to 215 passengers. The 737 is Boeing's only narrow-body airliner in production The 737 series is the best-selling jet airliner in the history of aviation. The 737 has been continuously manufactured by Boeing since 1967 with 7,457 aircraft delivered and 3,044 orders yet to be fulfilled as of January 2013. 737 assembly is centered at the Boeing Renton Factory in Renton, Washington. Many 737s serve markets previously filled by 707, 727, 757, DC-9, and MD-80/MD-90 airliners, and the aircraft currently competes primarily with the Airbus A320 family.
