330 Words2 Pages
A boarding school is like a normal day school with hotels attached. The hotels are where the children sleep. The House Master acts like a parent, helping and punishing the pupils where appropriate. His aim is to make sure the pupils are happy, get on well, and work hard. “Boarding schools are not a very pleasant place, for education, as the children would lose the relationship with their parents. This is extremely awful, because they wouldn’t be able to adjust in later life.” “Boarding schools are good places, because it gives children the chance to expand their knowledge. They can open their opportunities, without having to follow their parents. Boarding schools can allow children to exceed expectations.” If you have the chance and the money to go to a boarding school, then should you go to it? In this essay, I am going to debate whether or not, in my opinion, the statement: “Are boarding schools good for children.” and give my views on it. I will analyse boarding schools and use harrow school, to help me come to a conclusion. I will also outline the above statement. I will create four different aspects in this essay. Each will have a different role. Firstly: the introduction; secondly, the views for the statement; then, the views against and finally, a conclusion, in order to sum up my views and thoughts on this statement and give an opinion on it. A step higher than average schools, therefore is it giving an advantage? An opportunity to shine, or is it to show your flaws? What is a boarding school? A boarding school is a school that you live at. It originates from the word ‘Board.’ This means covering all meals and lodging.
