Functional Specification I went to BMW Stephen James – Enfield to propose a multimedia system for the marketing manager of the branch, we came to an agreement that he would accept my system but the client would prefer the system to show a detailed map of the site showing the main areas of the working site, the main objective of this is to make the customer feel welcome and to familiarise them with the site before they have even thought about visiting the branch. The problem was that customers felt daunted about coming to the branch and using the services as there was the feeling of uncertainty. This system should be able to solve this problem. BMW Stephen James Group in Enfield, has recently replaced their marketing manager to Ben Saul, he has a campaign to make the customers experience at the Steven James Site better by making it enjoyable and welcoming. He wanted the customers to feel happy about using their services and feeling like there was nothing to hide about the business. Ben specifically said “I don’t want my customers to feel as thought we are a typical garage, where they try and rip you off”. Ben wanted the customer to feel welcome at the branch, with the impression of familiarity at the site. This could be resolved by the proposed multimedia system; the system has been previously described in the introduction. The system will basically be a digital navigator of the Stephen James Site; this will then bring the familiarity to the customer. In the first meeting that Ben and I attended the following objectives were agreed upon. The project will be considered a success if the following are met: • The project is handed in on time • Cooperate Identity and within brand keeping consistency with the bands scheme (CI) • Interactive Digital Map will be the match of the branch layout. • System runs fully with out error or malfunction.
