Black History Month: Harriet Tubman Black History Month is a month that is celebrated by African-Americans and others. It’s a time to reflect on civil rights leaders around their movement. This Black History Month, I choose to write about Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman played a big part in the civil rights movement and other various acts. Harriet was known for several things. She was an abolitionist, humanitarian, union spy during the Civil War and last but not least, she was best known for escaping from slavery. Harriet Tubman was born in the year 1820.
