Romans 3:28-30 speaks to the fact that people are justified by faith, not by the law. Paul addressed this because the Jews cared a lot about the law that they neglected their culture. Paul began to take an interest in the importance of the law and took full account towards the culture. “A healthy culture life is one that views the culture as one created by God,” (Frank,(October 2013)). We each have a different culture that God has given us, and we each should follow this religion.
Christian Studies Essay Option #2 “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16 With reference to the quotation above, outline how Christianity presents the central problem for human existence and explain how this problem is addressed in Christian teaching and practice. Christianity believes that the main problem that comes with human existence is the sin people accumulate throughout their daily lives. This sin, which is attained through bad deeds and the falling short of god’s standards, is the main issue in human existence as it not only creates problems in this life but can also create separation from god and eternal
The singleness and agreement of God was greatly emphasized by the Jews and Muslims. However, Christians’ pronouncement of the singleness of God is most of the times misunderstood, for the reason that Christians believe in the Holy Trinity which doesn’t show defiance of monotheism but a declaration of the involvedness of the Divine Being. These three religions consider God as the beginning and cause of everything we see around us. They also believe that God is a caring God that is concern to all human beings. God is morally correct and has given us commandments that will help all of us live in a life that is according to his likeness.
Naturalist do not believe in more than just matter, they look at things as if I cannot see it then it is not there. However, as a Christians, I believe in more and I know our God is out there helping us through our lives. Naturalist look at us as machines that all of our emotions and such are just reactions in our brains, but Christians believe that everything we do is the creation of God. Secular humanist and Christians are so different I use my religion to help stay in line. Secular humanist feel that religion is really a negative thing because it gives you rules to follow therefore you never really follow your deepest desires.
Furthermore, Zagzebski employs an intriguing analogy by comparing one who chooses to believe in God just for infinite gain is similar to someone who chooses a mate with a high income, and then tries to love that person. My own view on this argument is similar to that of Zagzebski’s. I believe that people, one way or another, are selfish. People ultimately want what is best for them, and look towards things that will benefit them the most. There is nothing wrong with this, except when it comes to the issue of believing in God.
Nothing is above God. That is stated as the first and most important of the Ten Commandments God created for us. Everything we do, say, how we live, what we think, etc, is based around God. If something is against God and are perhaps sinful, Christians who have a biblical worldview perspective try to avoid those things. Nonbelievers such as atheists, agnostics or non Christian religions wouldn’t necessarily avoid sins because they don’t have a biblical worldview on life.
It is noted that you need a personal intimate relationship with God thru his son Jesus Christ. In (Deuteronomy 11:13) it states simply you should love your neighbor as you do yourself. Christianity is about relationships with God, not to simply follow the tenants of religion. 4) QUESTION OF MORALITY: Morality is the difference between right and wrong, a how you should live your life. In (Psalm 5:15) IT states that man is born a sinner and cannot save himself.
I believe that God sent his son to die for my sins and the sins of nonbelievers. Jesus is the bridge that connects us to the Father. My Christian belief determines my actions and therefore any consequences follow. As a Christian I believe that we are to follow His commands and be an example to others. Through the course of this class my worldview has not differed but strengthened, it has made me a stronger Christian.
Examine religious teachings about the value of human life with particular reference to quality of life and self-sacrifice. (30 marks) Quality of life can be referred to how good or bad someone’s life is and self sacrifice is when a person gives up something for another person. In Christianity, Christians believe that Jesus sacrificed himself for everyone else, for example in John 3:16 it states ‘whoever believes in him may not be lost but have eternal life’. So, this shows that salvation took place as Jesus sacrificed himself so that humans still had an opportunity to enter heaven and in revelations 21 it stated that humans will redeem their relationship with God, so they can become closer and have that trust between them again. So, this that self sacrificed should be done and that humans quality of life would be good since now they know they have Gods trust again.
