I believe that many students need motivations and reasons to do frequent studying, reading, and exercising; therefore frequent in-class exams will give them good reasons and motivations to start reviewing a chapter. Frequent tests will be more efficient in classes that require a lot of readings and memorizing, such as history, politic, geography, etc, because if a student procrastinate his reading until a night before the test, he will be overwhelmed. Another advantage from frequent exams is that students can use their returned exams that have been given feedbacks and the right answers for their study guides to prepare for their midterm or
One of the biggest and most obvious goals I have set would be graduating high school. This should be a pretty easy goal to accomplish but I do need to watch myself in some of my classes. Some of the big things I need to do to meet this goal are improving my neatness, not being lazy and actually turning assignments, and trying to study as much as I can. The hardest of these will unquestionably be turning in my homework. I’ve always had a hard time turning in any homework and this is the year I need to start doing it.
Looking back on my English experience here at Torrance High I believe I have learned a lot. In my last year at middle school they had us pick our scheduled for the next year at Torrance High, I decided to go into the honors program for English( it was one of my stronger subjects). I got I think the best English 1 teacher in the school. Mr. Duvall taught me a better way to organize the information I had read. I got a B first semester.
In speaking to other ELL students whose home language is different, ELL students, use English but due to the students’ limitations in their English proficiency, they expose each other to more broken English I will value the instructional power of a word wall by frequently utilizing, maintaining, and updating it.All too often, secondary educators miss important opportunities to build the literacy skills of all students. This is especially true in
Jamison Mullen Ms.Cramer Final reflective essay 5/24/12 It’s been a long hard year for all the students that took English 10. It’s good that people take English because it affects the way we talk, live, and function in day to day life. I can say personally English helped my writing tremendously. I could hardly write essays due to my bad grammar and the inability to punctuate my words and sentences I’ve come a long way. It was worth every question and worksheet to where I am now.

Final exams are a time of stress for students to worry about if they can recall all the lessons that their professors have went over within that semester. Students who are scarcely passing any of their classes need their final exams to be passing grades, so they tend to study a little harder. Finals also allow students to see how all the lessons they have learned connect through small facts. Identifying and understanding thoroughly everything the professor particularly emphasizes in class can be a hard and tough experience when preparing to study for finals. In Joy Alonso’s “Two Cheers for Examination “she uses examinations to examine the purposes and useless of exams in two and four year colleges to appear to students and teachers.
17). This describes how he fails with girls: he either scares them or he is too immature in the way he talks to them. It makes him depressed that Sally would not want to go with him because he thinks there is nothing more to do in life so why not just get away from it. Holden is depressed due to disappointment because he feels that he cant do anything right. One of the many examples of this is when he
Going into AP English class, I knew there would much to learn and that I had much room to grow. After looking back critically over the work I had done throughout the first semester of my junior year, I realized that I have already come a long way. After looking back at the comments Mr. Murphy had written about my writings and the notes I had made to myself, I noticed that my conclusions, thesis, organization, word and verb choice needed work. In contrast, some positive aspects about my writings were good insights, citations and flow. When looking back on my old free responses the reoccurring weaknesses were my conclusions and thesis statements.
