He said, “When the other kids were swimming at the country club, I was biking for miles after school, because it was my chance” (Armstrong 26). He was determined to find something he could succeed at and it looked like biking would provide that opportunity. At this point Lance had his number one supporter, his mother. She was his single most important helper, teaching him how to succeed, telling him “son, you never quit” (Armstrong 26). Lance knew that his mother was his ultimate helper.
Previously I’d only been to this part of the area in a car, so now being able to ride the streets was truly an event I’ll always remember. We rode to the top of Great Oaks to Bright Water, where at sixteen years old, I witnessed one of the largest hills I’ve ever seen. Standing directly at the bottom, I looked up and felt the menacing road was mocking me. I turned to Joey and saw the same look in his face: wanting to conquer the slope. We walked up the hill carrying our boards, wanting to savor the thrill of riding down.
I didn’t mind paying the 1,250 dollars to send him there for six years. For Junior’s seventh birthday he wanted a bicycle, so two weeks before his birthday he gets his first bicycle. It was a red bicycle that had black and white words but you could not get away without buying the matching helmet and pads. Junior began to act out at age 12 he was a disobedient child and determined to harm him others; I didn’t know how to control him, so I made my husband write the check to send him to he Columbia Military Academy and he finished his high school education there. They really did help him he ended up graduating top of his class.
The first concert report I am doing is the one I attended with my fiancée on September 14 of this year at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. The Group that was preforming was Stone Temple Pilots which happens to be her all-time favorite group. I can start by saying that the atmosphere was pretty laid back with a lot of people in my age group attending. As this would be my first concert of my life, I really didn’t know what to expect while I was there. I was also surprised with the amount of music I knew from them.
It was early Sunday morning, when I arrived at my favorite paradise: The Motocross track. As I began to gear up, I was pondering the goals I would exceed. I slid my helmet over my head, buckled it, knowing that I had just committed to exceeding my expectations and accomplishing my goals. The feeling grew stronger as I swung my leg over the bike. After one firm kick, the bike roared.
Robert Cormier does a phenomenal job writing this amazing story about a boy on his bike. The rebellious, relaxed, and compound relationship between Adam and Amy add even more depth to the book. Will we ever know how Amy felt about Adam? Students and teachers will be raving about this book for years to come, for its astonishing plot will forever be on the shelves of
All in all I realized buying the material you dream of does not necessarily guarantee happiness; sometimes the happiness you imagine turns out to merely be an illusion. Purchasing a car turned out to be very joyous; even after buying my car; the happiness it brought was I couldn’t imagine it. I bought a Toyota Prius in last summer. This car proved to be so useful, because I am working at Millbrae city, so I have to drive an hour away from my house; if I take Bart instead of driving, it would take me two hours to get there, I couldn’t imagine that living without it in someday, and it became my best friend in my life. It has helped me to open up opportunities and has served as one of the greatest tools in my
Attending my first NFL game was a great experience for me. I really had wished my uncle could have been there with me. I believe he was taken away too early. I appreciated everything he did for me. I dedicated that game to my Uncle Victor.
I forget how many levels of the ship there were, but it seemed like a lot because by the time we got to the top it seemed like we had been walking through it forever. Getting to the top was pretty cool because they had a lot of old jet planes up there and we were able to sit in some of them and take pictures. At the end of the day, I remember being very worn out from all the walking around. After all the nice, fun, and relaxing days in California our weekend vacation came to end and we all had to head back to Arizona. Keep in mind, we are still driving the minivan until we reach Yuma again and can pick up the SUV that was being worked on.
Finally, I got to meet a couple of celebrities. I was working on a Saturday which is always a really busy day. While I was working a large group of people where getting on the ride and these people where V.I.P so the ride was specifically for them. In the front seat of the ride was rapper Andre 3000, but I didn’t notice. I was so focused on my job.
