She was not worried about having her baby in isolation at all because she knew that she was in excellent condition. Her labor started prematurely and the midwife who was going to help her was getting treated with sore hands, afraid of infection Millicent made the quick decision to coach Sidney through the delivery and have their baby, just the two of them. This was the birth of their son, David Blake Loder. Soon after David’s birth Millicent had her second child, a baby girl named Carlene. Originally, the man was not interested in talking to anyone and told the doctor he did not want to be up for more than 5 minutes. By the end though, he was opening up to the doctor, eager to answer all the questions. He felt that he had a purpose again. When the doctor finally broke through to his wife and she softened to her husband’s condition, it warmed my heart. I enjoyed reading many of the stories in this book, but none of the others touched me the way this story did.
I had asked if the television could be left on, since it was such a special event. Everyone, including the doctors and nurses seemed to be pleased, paying special attention to what they could, while at the same time moving around the delivery suite, swiftly. My newborn daughter had just entered the world totally unaware of the extra importance of those last few minutes. A wonderful healthy cry, as Chief Justice Burger administered the Oath of Office. The medical team was so intent on taking care of this tiny baby and giving her every little thing she needed.
The wedding was beautiful, the kids loved Jack, and he loved them; everything was just what he prayed for. All seemed well with Jack and Lydia, that was until the day two of Lydia’s “friends” showed up. After six months of marital bliss, Lydia behavior becomes erratic. I was so happy to hear her voice that I wanted cry at that moment, but I did not because I did not want her to hear that I was crying. I had more than a week of not talking to her that was why I was so glad to hear her. After I talked to her I felt better because I knew that my family and she were fine and because they knew I was fine too. We stayed in that house for about a week. We could not go too far away from the
