Good Afternoon ladies and gentlemen,
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is XXXX and for those of you that do know me ... well … I apologize.
I met XXXXX some years ago and though we have spent a lot of time together, playing basketball, or going out on the boat, or playing Halo online, I think what has really made our friendship last this long, is his moms cooking. (Thank you XXXXX)
Foolishly, XXXXX has given me the great honor of being his best man on this very special day. Let me just say how grateful I was to have been chosen to speak at such a joyous occasion…….
Unfortunately, those feelings have now gone out the window and I stand here before you ... terrified
Well, in my quest to find words that would describe you, XXXXX, what better source than to ask your friends and family; so buddy here are some words I jotted down
They say you are a great friend, thoughtful, caring, trusting and charismatic. In fact I barely found a person who had a bad word to say. Although, I did find some.
When I heard belligerent, ungrateful, lazy, stubborn and obstinate I thought…hang on, that’s a bit rough, but if his parents don’t know him then who does.
Of course this is not true or we wouldn’t all be here today.
I remember shortly after becoming good friends with XXXXX, we were talking about life, and asked him about XXXXX. The first thing out of his mouth was “from the moment I saw her, I knew I wanted to be with her” which I thought was kind of corny but sweet and sincere
As for XXXXX … I have a quote:
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind as William Shakespeare once said, so XXXXX I guess your love must truly be blind. (Pause)
XXXXX, being beautiful is only the start of the many qualities you have that make XXXXX such a lucky guy today; you are a smart, loving, and caring woman.
You really deserve a great husband… Thank god she married you before she found one. (pause)
I want to follow up with a small poem I found...
