We live in a country where everyone should be treated equally. Just because a student chooses to be athletic doesn’t mean he/she should use their athletic skills to get a free ride throughout their college years. A college student being exempt from classes is unfair to other students, it is their loss of education and not taking college so serious will later on bring consequences. Why go to college if you don't take the classes? Seems kind of pointless, most athletes don't go pro after college, so I why not get the full educational experience?
Ungar argues that the government is to blame for their lack of financial support and not the educational institution. Given that Sanford Ungar is the president of a small liberal-arts college, his obvious bias shows when suggesting that small liberal arts colleges are the most rewarding since they have more of a community feel and are usually independent. But, liberal-arts colleges are better in the financial department because they continue to work to expand “need-based financial aid, the net cost of attending” (196). How can Beres prove that the money is really going to waste? How does he know that those funds aren’t being used to help the medical students get a better clinical? I agree that every student deserves to get into their “dream” college, so not only will the common app help with get there but also help start them with the path they need to be on. Just because so many of the applicants who applied didn’t get accepted doesn’t mean they weren’t being given a chance. I wonder what percentage of those students who didn’t get accepted withdrew the opportunity themselves because they couldn’t afford it once they got accepted.
He believes not everyone should go to college to pursue a major just because they want to make a lot of money. Murray states something that it is true, ‘Young people with okay-but-not-great academic ability who are thinking about whether to go after a B.A. need to consider the competition they will face after they graduate.’(Murray,2008). If all people want to get into the business, finance, and/or management world once graduated they might have a rough time. There are certain skills needed to be successful, even when giving orders to other people.
They will have the opportunity to have their education paid for, understand the importance of education, and possibly learn a valuable skill while being able to serve their country. The promise of enlistment bonuses and money for college is guaranteed in writing when a person enlists. Money and opportunity for college is always available. The most common reason that this writer has observed for it not being used is lack of desire by the individual. Some people just do not desire to get a higher education, even if they don’t have to pay for it.
I say limit you’re spending. Well here’s my logic you shouldn’t go into college spending a lot of money unless you’re on an academic or athletic scholarship but for the regular paying student no. The reason why you should limit your spending is because your money has to last you for a long time. If you’re the type of person who likes to spend a lot then there will be some lonely days for you. Remember you have to eat and unless you’re on a meal plan (which is still basically paying) you will have to go out and buy your own things to eat there is no mommy or daddy there anymore to help make sure your mouth is fed so you’ll have to try to save as much as you can to provide for yourself.
College is expensive and what one receives in return is not enough. What some graduates get is huge debt, and, for those whoearn their degree, a slip of paper they do not know how to use to get a job. But the pundits are wrong; for most students, the benefits of college will outweigh the costs. First, when considering the immediate costs of college tuition, the price has not grown to become unmanageable. The published tuition and fees is actually way more than the students end up paying to their universities.
What good does Jill’s degree do then? The cartoon points out that sometimes degrees don’t even matter. If you attend college and pursue a major not currently in demand, then what good does the degree you earn do? Today, picking and choosing majors wisely is important. With the expense of college continuing to rise, most people cannot afford to pursue something they will not make money and benefit from later on.
A management work considers more of a doing paper work whereas labor work needs hand skills. I believe qualified workers worth going to college because they make more money in less period of time. While I was reading the Kid Pharaoh’s interview, I came to know that he doesn’t support education at all. He thinks it’s not
It can be the lack of wanting a higher education, or the greed for money. Choosing to go to college before pursuing a career in professional sports would, in any case, be the smartest and right thing to do, because of all the benefits it can give you later in life.
