It was a massive undertaking but well worth the time and effort for the future of the states and for the knowledge that was able to be given to the world. Ambrose did a fantastic job of explaining what seemed to be every detail of available information in order to create this masterpiece. Ambrose put his all into every page to try to make it flow and be as exciting as he could make it. Even though there were a few pages I would completely stop paying attention too as I read over the page, there were others parts that really grabbed my attention. This book was required to be read and reviewed, and I only finished the first 200 pages, since I’m a huge procrastinator (shocking I know) but I do plan on finishing this book.
Mr. Lopper also states that famous motivational writer by the name of Dale Carnegie, identified that “most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” I like those words, listening to it motivates me. I am going to achieve all my goals even if it seems impossible. One of my goals is to be a Marketing Manager. Even though at this very moment, it seems impossible; I know I can do it. I am going to have high measures of hope.

It is a historically accurate novel which is the kind of books I enjoy most. I was a little hesitant on reading The Battle of Britain because I have not studied the air force excessively, however I learned very much about the air force furthermore The Battle of Britain. Richard Overy successfully delivered his message to the reader with real life scenarios to entertain the reader, historical accurate dates along with historical accurate information, by applying his knowledge with his writing skills Richard cleverly put together admirable sentences/paragraphs to educate the
Creative minds and critcal thinking | Famous Thinkers | PHL/458 | | Edward McClendon | 7/11/2013 | Facilitator: Dane Scott Schnarr | Famous Thinkers When deciding which famous thinkers to discuss in this paper it was easy to pick individuals that stood out above all. Researching individuals in which there is familiarity was not a challenge so the decision was based on interest. William “Bill” Gates always has been an individual of impressive interest because of his integrity portrayed in the media. Reading and hearing about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through history books and on television does not do him justice. Reading the words written by Dr. King piqued the interest to understand it directly from his point of view.
READING Pages 94-104 Key Points: · Walden believes that modern society has placed too much value on materialistic things; as a whole has spent money on everything EXCEPT curing the mind. · The great Classics are the worlds most valuable resource; they are timeless and can speak to the soul of every man. · There is no difference between a man who cannot read and a man that can read but chooses to never read great works. "These same questions that disturb and puzzle and confound us have in their turn occurred to all the wise men; not one has been omitted; and each has answered them, according to his ability, by his words and his life." (page 102, Chapter "Reading") Walden theorizes that any and all questions had by modern man have
This is not just a novel of growth and development, but its a classic. A classic that is hard to come by these days. It’s a feel good, easy-read novel and it has an underlying message that in the end serves a purpose for everybody in one way or another. Like Alice, we face challenges everyday, some hard and some easy, this novel helps us to understand that challenges are there to influence our life for the better and in the end we are more mature and stronger than what we were. In the fictional novel, The Alchemist, the camel driver tells the protagonist, Santiago, ‘....the people need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they want and need.’ Fear is an obstacle that we all face at some point in our lives.
By using many quotes, statistics, and descriptive details Clarke makes the writing complete. It’s as if he gives a little taste of everything, but that miniscule amount is sufficient to feed one’s imagination. Clarke really makes a homerun, his purpose to demonstrate how well Kennedy’s speech was and how/why it was successful, also to demonstrate the genuine president that Kennedy was; in which he clearly accomplishes. Personally never paid much attention to any president’s speech nor wanted to read it, but after reading “Why JFK’s Inaugural Succeeded”, the motivation and very enthusiasm to read Kennedy’s speech was unavoidable. Amazingly an author can really engage his/her audience, but that really takes a lot.
In my own opinion I would not take the pill just due to the fact that I would never be able to dream again, which is a huge thing for me. If one were to take the pill to allow them to survive on one hour of sleep a night it would result in many changes. The biggest of them all being never having the ability to dream again. Some of the many advantages a person could gain by taking the pill would be adding 7-8 or more hours a day to do whatever need be. Whether it be cleaning, studying, sports, or just time for yourself never being able to dream again, I believe, weighs out all of those heavily.
For example, I come to my new work and I respect my new colleges, which… I just met them and they caused my respect, for example. [18:00] I think how clever they are, they are doing something there. But then time passes and you understand what they are doing. And your respect can disappear because, in fact, they do not do anything special and you begin to do this better and understand that there is nothing to be respected for. As well, I have nobody among famous people who commands my respect.
