The Benefits of Solar Energy The Sun has always been the most important source of energy to everything that lives in this world, no matter how big or small in someway the Sun has a provided energy or participates in its everyday functions. Humans in this world long before converting the Sun’s solar energy into electricity, they also used solar energy for many things from measuring time to drying their clothes and other materials. There are now new ways to harvest the Sun’s energy and most of those techniques have been used for hundredths of years, and not only are they an alternative way of making energy but as the future source. With carbon emissions, and nuclear energy becoming a large contributor to the climate change, and health of…show more content…
Currently in the Mojave desert in California there are areas in where you can find rows of mirrors directing light to large towers in the middle of them. This arrangement of mirrors is what is called “Solar Thermal Power Plants” and it is used to power up about 350,000 homes in the area (energyquest). This process of thermal power is safer and a lot less harmful to the enviroment in the way that it works, because it uses the heat produced by the mirrors to boil water that makes steam to make the turbines create electricity. There are no harmful fossil fuels or gases involved, but the downfall to them is that at night when the sun is down there is not any energy being produced. Solar thermal power plants are thought of as not efficient because they only work at night, and because of that most are made as hybrid systems to keep the power…show more content…
Once all the problems associated with the improvement of solar energy are cleared out, there is no end to it afterwards and everyone involved will entirely benefit from it. Having solar powered cell phones and cars, will be the best for the world but before that happens there is still improvements to be made. Just like computers and cell phones get more powerful, these new sources of renewable energy will get more advanced and be available to everyone at inexpensive
