If possible, providing volunteer opportunities where these high school students may see how fortunate they are would be a way to improve collaboration. The importance of a Bishop Noll education this past year has surpassed my highest expectations. It has opened my eyes to the reality of what a great school can do for you both academically and spiritually. From the first day of school, the challenges & hurdles that have come my way have been great examples of what life has in store for me at the college level and in the future workforce. The volunteers at the Salvation Army are important to fulfilling the pledge to America of “Doing the Most Good” (The Salvation Army, 2013) as they work as partners in helping. They work to help keep the program running. Their volunteers contribute to ensure the program is running effectively and providing more funding to help run the program. The conventions of college writing are very complex and if professors are more helpful and patient with first year students as they learn academic discourse, students will be better prepared for all future academic endeavors and they will have a better opportunity to strengthen and develop their voice.
