Education has always been a huge concern to our country and how it affects an individual’s lifestyle in the future. The opportunities that can take a person who may achieve success compared to one who may decide to limit their cost of being successful set a difference between each other within their lives. Authors such as Mabry, John Gonzalez, and Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa who also discusses about similar situation that help explain that general idea of education. Education has become such a big part to many people’s lives which can impact in both a positive and negative way. A person that has been to college and at least has a bachelor’s degree is far more likely to succeed in life than some with little to no education. Education has a very positive effect in most people’s lives, as they can get a job that they like and get money to support themselves and their families. A person that is financially stable can enjoy their life rather than worry about their next paycheck, which can be detrimental to one’s health as it puts a lot of stress on the body. Nelson Mandela once said “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” (Mandela) and he is absolutely right, the primary reason that people are poor in 3rd world countries is because they are highly uneducated. Since you need educated people to have a functioning government, a stable economy and a vibrant future, it is very important to stress the importance of education. The United States has become a hub for the brilliant minds on the twenty-first century, thanks to the H1B, the visa that allows people from other countries to come here and get an education. In the US 50% of PhD students are foreign born, and now these great minds are going back to their homelands and building Silicon Valleys in India and China.
