Ben & Jerry’s, Bigelow Tea and Business Intelligence This paper is the responses from group “E” case study “Ben & Jerry’s, Bigelow Tea and Business Intelligence”. In this study two companies transformed their businesses with business intelligence. Conveying valuable information to a database table that will assist companies to get a completive advantage over their competition. In the second question from our text they talk about databases. And the question is Databases are the underlying technology that allows Ben & Jerry’s to track ice cream and frozen yogurt information. Based on your knowledge of data bases, what sort of tables or files of information would Ben & Jerry’s need in its database? What would be the primary keys for each of those? What would be the foreign keys among those to create the necessary relationships? Database according to our text is a “collection of information that you organize and access according to the logical structure of that information. Databases are the heart and soul of any organization because they organize and manage all of the organization’s information resources”. The databases that Tom & Jerry’s business needs should be designed so their business intelligence tools would be able to work together correctly. A customer’s table is required and the columns would be used for tracking the attributes of customers. The attributes would be the customer’s number, customer’s desires, and the location of the customer. Another table would be used for trucking information, columns would be used for truck numbers, locations they are going, ship dates, arrival times. Another table would be for employees, columns would have employee’s number, name, address, phone numbers, and which location they are at.
