Why Being On Time is Important Being stuck looking a clock may seems almost obsessive therefore, it is also reasonable to suggest that young people learn as soon as possible in their lives that others expect them to be on time for a variety of reasons and in my case…being late to post is not a good way to uphold my dedication to the Marine Corps. The decisions you and I make every day don’t just affect ourselves, but also remember that our actions can affect everyone around us. This statement holds most true when we speak of the importance of being on time. In the Marine life, tardiness is just plain unacceptable and we are held to the highest standard in society. There are many reasons why I am held accountable and responsible for being on time and my failure to be at my place of post at the time specified jeopardizes my credibility. That late Marine is not only affecting himself, his actions may affect his whole unit. That one Marine could put a difficult and possible fatal effect on the whole mission if it happened in a real wartime situation. The USMC would be a much more proficient unit, if every Marine held up to that standard of promptness. I could write this essay and fill it with excuses as to why I was late, but the fact of the matter is that there is no excuse. Being on time is very important. When I am late it makes everyone else run behind which then makes all the Marines eat late and have to wait. And food is a very vital part of the USMC. The Marines need their fuel in order better perform at their duty. Not to mention that when everything is running behind and then we all have to end up staying later than we would have had to in the first place. It makes the whole day very hectic and then people get irritated easy. It would make things run much smoother if everyone was on time all the time.
