How to Be an Independent Woman In 1952, Elizabeth II became a queen of England and Isabel Martínez de Perón was the first female president in the world in 1974. In the 21st century, we can easily find women leaders. France and Brazil have female presidents and Angela Merkel and Julia Gillard are working as a prime minister in Germany and Australia. Last year, Geun-Hye Park became the first female president of South Korea. As time goes by, many female want to have their own life, not just as a mother of their children or a wife of a man but as themselves and some of them became very famous. The numbers of women leaders have been growing and the women leaders’ power is also becoming stronger than before. Women leaders tend to not to rely on others and make their own way to live. They are independent women. To become an independent woman, you have to change the way you speak, the style you dress and your attitude. First of all, change the way you speak. As everyone knows, first impression is very important. Your way of speaking will affect the first impression and your first impression will affect your reputation. For instance, let’s say there was a woman who went to a job interview and kept talking about what other said but she never talked about her opinion. Besides, the woman speaks very quietly and tentatively. Do you think she got the job? I guarantee that she couldn’t get the job. The reason that she couldn’t get the job is because the way she spoke made judges think she does not have the ability to speak up her complains and make her own decision. Like this, the way you speak can make you get a job or lose a job. Furthermore, a person’s speech tone has an impact on the person’s image.
