Shawna became angry, she felt that is was not true and the only reason she cared so much was because she was doing it for the family. She became very frustrated and told ray that he was jealous of her and her career. Ray was shocked and became very angry. Shawna then realized what was said and took it back and apologized. She was being unfair because ray had taken some time for her to work, while he watched the kids.

“The Red Badge of Courage” is about teenager, Henry Fleming. The plot of this book is that Henry, who is very scared and intimidated, is fighting in the war and comes out being the hero; you can say he is an underdog. A Red Badge of Courage is a wound received when one is injured in combat. Henry gives everything he can to fight and win, but there is one problem, he does not have a Red Badge of Courage like everyone else. In the end of the book Henry finally gets his Red Badge of Courage, but earns his in a sort of dishonest way.
He raises his voice at Aunt Harriet and tells her to go pray for trying to abet Emily; leading her to commit suicide, "…Aunt Harriet's body had been found in the river…" (74). At first, Joseph is calm when he sees Harriet at the door. Once he is informed of the situation, he bursts out with fury. Before she thought that Atticus was different from the other fathers in Maycomb because he was too old and couldn’t do anything fun with them. After he killed the mad dog in one shot, Scout was proud of her father and got more influenced in him. Scout is forced to understand that Tom Robinson was being treated differently because he had colored skin. Because of that, Scout realized that people can be prejudice because her father took a case of an African American man who was innocent. It shows that Scout can actually think seriously about things when she says, “Who in this town did anything to help Tom Robinson, just who?”(215).
It is impossible to go through life without trust..." This quote doesn't apply to All Quiet on the Western Front because the main character Paul Baumer and his friends trusted their teacher Kantorek and went to fight in the World War. They all eventually died in this war and the war also shortened their lives greatly. They trusted Kantorek thinking the war would be amazing and they would be doing a great service for their country. However the complete opposite happened. They hated the war and lost their lives.

When his mother brings up God having something for everyone to do, Krebs replies, “I’m not in His Kingdom” (Hemingway 75). Krebs openly admits not having God in his life. Pre-war society was very pious and one had to have God in his or her life to be a better person and live with good morals. Because Krebs does not feel God with him, he does not strive to live a good life. He hurts his mom after telling her he does not love her and “felt sorry for his mother and she made him lie.
It was after Victor’s father left the reservation when Victor began to drink and become violent towards Thomas. Victor tried to avoid Thomas and his stories of his visions and traditions. He was almost embarrassed of his constant storytelling. Victor had even made it a point to tell Thomas that he “thinks about things too much”, meaning that he related everything to the Indian way of life and how things effected it. Throughout the years, even though Victor was just plain mean to Thomas, he always still seemed to be there to help Victor.
