When deciding on a location to vacation at, usually someone would choose between two different types of vacation spots: a beach-like place or a mountainous, cold one. I am going to discuss the differences in these places, and give insight on three various, but important, ones: climate, types of activities you can do, and location. The first and most obvious difference between a vacation at a beach and a vacation in the mountains is the climate. In the mountains, there is an excess of fresh, dry air, and at a beach, the air is humid, and might be polluted slightly. It is important to keep in mind that the higher you go in the mountains, the harder it might be to breathe, because of the elevation levels. Beaches are located by large bodies of water; they can be lakes, oceans, or seas. Famous beaches include Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, a beach that draws crowds of up to 14 million people a year, Miami Beach, located in Florida, which includes the Art Deco District that has the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world, and Venice Beach in California, which is an enormous tourist attraction. Mountains however, are located all over the planet. Comparing the population of these two places, beaches are normally heavily crowded, and the mountains are more than likely going to be quite secluded. There are many differences between the beach and the mountains, and I have listed three major and important ones.
