While baseball and soccer share many different characteristics, they are very different sports. Even though both sports are played outdoors, baseball is played on a diamond, and soccer is played on a rectangle field. Baseball and soccer are very much alike, but at the same time are very different. There are many reasons why these two sports are alike. One of the reasons that baseball and soccer are alike is that they both wear uniforms. There are many reasons teams wear uniforms. We would have a hard time following what team each player is on, and what the name of the player is, as most sports move really quickly. One of the reasons they are different is that baseball the uniforms are very different for the movement of the sport. Soccer requires a lot of running therefore their uniforms is very free moving. Soccer uniforms are worn with shorts and a T like shirt, with high socks and cleats. Baseball player’s uniforms are different in several ways. Their uniforms are worn with pants, high socks, cleats, T like shirt, and a ball cap. The ball cap is required as part of their uniform, even during night games. Another requirement for a baseball uniform is a ball glove. In order for the players to pass, or catch the ball they must be able to catch the ball with a leather glove. When soccer player’s score points they must travel down the field and score by kicking the ball into the goal. Their goal is a large net with a metal frame. Each goal is guarded by a goalie. The player must kick the ball without any use of their hands. If they use their hands they will be penalized with a violation. While soccer has goals, baseball players keep track of points. Baseball players hit the small spherical ball with a bat into the diamond shaped field, and the outfield players must throw the ball back into 4 bases to tag the player. If the player reaches home base they score a point for their team. If the player is tagged with the ball inside the glove while off base, then they are out.
