The collections for the Barona Cultural Museum come from locations throughout southern California and the reservation pays for the items to be display. San Diego Archeological Center is a non-profit organization that gets its collections come from developments throughout the county and is paid to display by visitor’s donation and land developers. The centers are appropriate for fourth graders because they provide activities that help them better understand the importance of artifacts. For example, the Barona Cultural Museum offers interaction with grinding stones in which students can see how the tools were use and see for themselves how precisely smooth the grinding stones were. The San Diego Archeological Center has activities open for all visitors, which include classifying objects with similar characteristics into categories. At the San Diego Archeological Center Nate Harrison is the individual they focus on by displaying some of his belonging along with pictures of him. Even though taking pictures of individuals in the 19th Centaury was very rare he is consider the person most photograph of his time. He was a resident in Palomar Mountain after leaving his past life as a slave. Harrison is seen as on the pioneers of the county. In the Barona Cultural Museum, the ‘Iipay Man is a man that can be seen drawn throughout southern California. It’s a red stick figure man who symbolic contribution would be that he makes sure that Native Americans stay close to their past ancestors. Throughout the Barona Cultural Museum they provide audio that help people learn how to say certain words, they also provide a linguist book.
