Barbie Bungee Jump Reflection Our goal was to bungee jump a Barbie a meter higher than the hallway roof, and hopefully, if our calculations were correct, it should go under the twenty- four inch line. If our group wanted to take the risk of either getting extra credit, or getting no points, we would have to get the Barbie under the eight inch line. I started off by just tying on one rubber band to the Barbie’s feet. I was the rubber band tier. As I added more rubber bands to the Barbie’s string of rubber bands, the distance she dropped to, increased. When we go to six rubber bands, she had dropped a total of forty- one inches. From there on we needed to use the equation y = mx+ b to find out how many rubber bands we would need to use to at least pass the twenty-four inch line. We were worried that the Barbie would hit the ground, and that we would lose points. On top of being the rubber band tier, I was also the meter stick holder and the Barbie dropper. Our team had a good combination of people that are good at solving equations, and people with neat hand writing. We all worked as a team, and each of us successfully addressed or part of the task. I did well on my part because all I had to do was tie rubber bands and drop a Barbie connected to multiple rubber bands off of the end of a meter stick. As a result of our efforts to successfully accomplish our mission, we succeeded in bungee jumping the Barbie to only twenty- two inches off of the ground. We measured for the Barbie to reach the twenty- four inch line. Our measurements told us to use only nineteen but we ended up using twenty- three rubber bands, just to be on the safe side. We also used twenty-three rubber bands because we knew that the Barbie’s head was not going to pass the twenty- four inch line, and we wanted to get as close as possible to the eight inch line without hitting the
