He gave hope to the number of Americans without healthcare or who are struggling to find a job. The President stated that the United States is a country that is not afraid when times are hard and is willing to fight through the troubles for our children and grandchildren. He proposed many ideas that he thinks will help better the nation. As one of the key components of democracy, popular sovereignty, the people of this country want solutions to the problems and Obama has some ideas. Now it is in the hands of Obama and his administration to take it a step further and see if it is really the answer our country is looking
I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to take a ten percent chance on change.” Obama is talking about how important change is to American’s and how George Bush did not accomplish that, and McCain supported Bush most of the time. He incorporates the voters by talking about how they have suffered through the last eight years and to make the next four better. If the voters want change to be apart of the fundamentals of the American nation at this point in time it will not be achieved by electing McCain. McCain really draws the voters in on this aspect of his speech. “In America, we change things that need to be changed.
One of Obama's weaknesses is that he supports tax increases. He believes this will help the economy improve. Others believe that Obama's lack of experience will be a negative. People believe that he will not have the experience to be able to handle the strains and responsibilities of being President. I support Senator John McCain.
We need to do something to help the minors who did not have a choice of coming over here, but just followed their parents. If these minors are here in the U.S and thriving for an education or serve our country why not give them a path to citizenship. It is not easy as immigrant to stay focus and achieve what you want in life. The more immigrants that become legal they would pay taxes and our deficit would go down in the long run. Until the government decides what to do, we are going to be in this recession.
These things are not a necessity of life. It would also help people to quit smoking, drinking and cut down on unhealthy eating, all are of which a big medical expense, I believe that taxes should be raised on the rich. And I feel that our prisoners should be sent to war instead of our kids fresh out of high school, people that contribute positively to society, fathers expecting their first child, someone that has already served some time in a war, etc. The money it costs to house, feed, clothed, educate, medical and dental for prisoners would be better served sending prisoners to war. I do believe that we have solutions for better budget cuts.
Kennedy used in his address was Ethos. Ethos his simply, how you appeal to your audience. Many things stood out to me in his speech that connected him to the people of the United States. His most famous quote that comes from the address in the Ethos section is: “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” I personally liked this quote because we often find ourselves looking for what someone else can do for us and we hardly ever give back. I think this quote opened the eyes of the people and made them realize they needed to help the country out and do their part in society.
William Mullen POL423-V2D5 Political Science Week 4 The Paradox of American Government I’m going to discuss this in the best way I can. The way I understand it we as citizens should be able to influence those that represent us and the majority opinion should become policy. The problem with this process as it stands today would have to be who truly influences politics in America. The reason this process seems to be, in my opinion, broken, has everything to do with those that truly influence policy in this country. The majority of Americans don’t want invasive ultrasound bills, they do want the Bush era tax cuts to be eliminated, they do want affordable or even single payer healthcare.
Our families don't always cross the finish line in the span of one generation. But each generation passes on to the next the fruits of their labor.“ Castro said. I agree with Castro if the generation before had the opportunity to succeed so should the new generation. This country was made for equality and opportunity. No one should be turn down because they don’t have enough founds because they might not have the money but the intelligence is there and Obama believes in you.
Give everyone with their hand out a piece of bread. Now that they have this piece of bread, they’ll obviously get a job and better our economy. That doesn’t make much sense, and yet a certain political party in America (let it be known that this is just a portion of the party, not everyone) seems to think that this is a novel idea because everyone deserves “opportunity.” Giving people money is not rewarding them with opportunity. It’s much like a rocking chair: it gives them something to do but in the end they are still where they were. The systems in this country like Welfare were intended to be temporary, or to help those who are unable to take care of themselves.
Although this is correct, the government uses taxpayer money to fund wars for our “well-being” and safety so why shouldn’t Healthcare also be funded in this way? Healthcare is just as important to the safety and well-being of our nation. As a lack of Facilities may also pose a problem, a government assisted program to build hospitals and medical facilities would allow for more job creation and in return more citizens paying taxes and contributing to the system. Another argument that has been made is that guaranteeing healthcare to all Americans will lead to “moral hazard”, as it is believed people will take riskier actions knowing they are guaranteed coverage. I feel that just because someone has coverage doesn’t mean they will be more willing to injure themselves.
