Analyze of Barack Obama speech –Yes we can- President Obama speech ”Yes We Can” for president election on January 8, 2008 in Nashua, New Hampshire is a defining moment in his career. The audience is the people of New Hampshire who gathered there but the target of audience is the whole of America. It’s obvious that the speech is inspirational. The speech is about change, reaches something better and solves the problems in America, not only as a president but as a people. He starts his speech with telling about that no one could imagine that they could reach the victory. He gives many examples that people can change the America and they are going to even challenge money. He emphasizes that the majority can reach something better and their vote can bring them victory. He repeats several times “We”, “Yes We Can” and “There is something happening” and the effect of this repetition is that audience hears what they want to hear, change and solves the problems in America. There is some parallel structure like he says: “There is something happening when people vote not just for the party, they have been belonging to, but the votes at the hopes in day, they coming” and the effect of this parallel structure is that he reaches he’s point. It is very easier to understand even for an English student like me. I think he’s speech is rather easy to understand and very appropriate. The message of the speech is “Yes we can change if you elect me.” Obama repeats this message several times because he wants that people remember the speech as they can change if they vote for
