Book Report Shiloh By Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Shiloh is about an 11-year-old boy named Marty Preston who finds a young beagle in the hills behind his home. And as soon as Marty finds him, its love at first sight for Marty and the dog, which Marty names Shiloh. Unfortunately, Shiloh belonged to the revolting Judd Travers. It turns out Shiloh was one of Judd’s hunting dogs and Shiloh ran away on one of his hunts. Marty knew that Judd Travers abused his dogs because he once saw a dog, on his porch, with a bullet in its head. So Marty decides to take matters into his own hands. Marty made a dog house for Shiloh and took care of Shiloh without telling his mother, father, or his sisters, Dara Lynn and Becky. But as he was secretly taking care of Shiloh, he had to tell a lot of lies just to keep him safe. But suddenly, Marty’s lies came crashing down on him, because one night, he was feeding Shiloh when his mom found him. She agreed not to tell Marty’s Father until the next evening. But the next evening, the Preston’s neighbor’s dog, who is a German shepherd, jumped over their fence and found Shiloh and then he attacked him! After that, Marty found him, but alas, his dad found him too! His father told Marty to tell Judd Travers that he had his dog. Judd Travers was not happy when he heard that Marty had his dog. But then Marty convinced Judd to give him the dog if he worked for him for an entire week, so he could have Shiloh. So after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, Shiloh was finally his at last. I like this book because it had a little adventure, drama, and friendship. I highly recommend this
